Abstract

This research entitled in which the main focus will be research, perceptions, beliefs and beliefs

of the citizens of Kosovo in the Kosovo Police, is divided into two parts, the theoretical part

which will address the concept of perception, a itudes, beliefs of the opinion in the security

institution (Kosovo Police) while in the empirical part will be discussed, analyzed the f‌i ndings

from the study conducted by a survey conducted with citizens of the Republic of Kosovo

regarding with their perceptions, a itudes and beliefs on the work, those responsible at work,

as well as the performance of the Kosovo Police, an institution whose primary role is security,

public peace, as well as the protection of freedom and rights of the citizens of Kosovo. The

study is of descriptive-descriptive character, inductive-deductive realized as a case study to

measure, test, evaluate the perceptions of the citizens of the country. The sample was selected

through a selective method, taking a random sample. The purpose of the research is to identify

valid scientif‌i c data for an analytical analysis, on the perceptions, beliefs and convictions of

citizens in security institutions, Kosovo Police, for data processing was used a combined

methodology, quantitative - qualitative, which aimed to answer these basic questions raised in

this research, such as: Citizens' perceptions, citizens' a itudes as well as citizens' beliefs on the

work, work engagement and performance of the Kosovo Police, in the f‌i ght against organized

crime, as well as the realization of peace and public safety. The sample is representative of the

demographic composition of Kosovo. Using the probability sample, the sample error margin

is 2.45%. A er collecting the working data the f‌i ndings are tabulated statistically processed,

tabular and cross-tabular data form the basis of the research. Respondents were asked about

their perceptions, a itudes and beliefs in the Kosovo Police. The research was conducted in

f‌i ve cities, se lements of Kosovo, through the instrument of the Survey (questionnaire) with

which the assessment was made, and recording the perceptions of citizens, beliefs, judgments,

a itudes, and the role and performance of the Kosovo Police. The survey is based on a sample

of 100 respondents, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. The results of the research show that

public perceptions of the Kosovo Police have negative tendencies, based on previous studies.

Introduction

The Kosovo security system consists of a complex group of actors and state security

institutions of Kosovo, until the declaration of Kosovo's Independence, the Kosovo

which were located in Kosovo with a mandate authorized by the UN based on
