PREPARATIONS FOR MEETING OF EU/MALTA JOINT PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE.

Plans for the next meeting of the EU/Malta Joint Parliamentary Committee, to be held in Valetta on February 16 and 17, 1999, were discussed at a meeting of the Committee's Bureau on December 4 in the Maltese capital. Largely technical in nature, the meeting served to draw up an agenda for the Committee session next year, the most salient item being the reactivation of Malta's request for accession to the European Union.
