The Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) with responsibility for financing in France and the Mediterranean countries, Philippe de Fontaine Vive, will be in Tunisia, on 2-3 March, to discuss the European Union's commitments with the country's authorities. The Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Catherine Ashton, announced, on 12 February in Tunis, that lending to Tunisia would be increased to 900 million for 2011. The vice-president will review potential projects with national authorities, including lines of credit to small and medium-sized enterprises.
