ABSTRACT: Regulation 261/2004, despite its short length, has repeatedly been subject of preliminary questions before the
CJEU, given the multiple doubts of interpretation that it has been raising. This paper analyzes the latest judgments
handed down, in which the Court has deepened the delimitation of the concepts of flight, confirmed reservation, long
delay and cancellation, introducing some surprising novelty, such as the «significant advance» and its assimilation to
cancellation, as well as those that have ruled again on the scope and content of passenger rights or on specific cases of
extraordinary circumstances.
Keywords: air transport, passenger rights, Regulation 261/2004, CJEU doctrine.
