(1) El Reglamento (CE) n.o 1831/2003 regula la autorización de los aditivos para su uso en la alimentación animal, así como los motivos y los procedimientos para que se conceda dicha autorización.
(2) Se ha presentado una solicitud de autorización de un preparado de Saccharomyces cerevisiae MUCL 39885 de conformidad con el artículo 7 del Reglamento (CE) n.o 1831/2003. La solicitud iba acompañada de la información y la documentación exigidas con arreglo al artículo 7, apartado 3, de dicho Reglamento.
(3) La solicitud se refiere a la autorización del preparado de Saccharomyces cerevisiae MUCL 39885 como aditivo en piensos, clasificado en la categoría de «aditivos zootécnicos» y destinado a todos los suidos, a excepción de los lechones destetados y las cerdas, y a los perros.
