Samsung, one of the most aggressive mercenaries in the patent war, seems to be willing if not to surrender at least to change its strategy in the face of the EU's determination. It has submitted new commitments to correct its anti-competitive practices, the European Commission has announced.

In January 2012, the EU executive opened an in-depth investigation to determine whether the South Korean manufacturer was abusing its essential technology patent rights related to mobile and wireless communications.
