SIEMENS IN TALKS WITH AMERICAN CSC TO SELL SBS.

The Siemens group is in talks to sell its troubled business services unit SBS to US firm Computer Sciences Corp (CSC), according to an article published on January 29 in a German magazine. "The talks started at the end of last year and have recently intensified", an industry source told the Euro am Sonntag, which in a press release on January 27 explained that a source close to SBS had confirmed the negotiations.

According to the magazine, CSC hopes to come to an agreement that includes the acquisition of SBS as well as a contract to provide IT services to Siemens. A spokesman for Siemens declined to comment on the matter. Discussions between the two groups took place two years ago but ended without any results, added the Euro am Sonntag.
