1.1 Min imum Wage Act
The Act on Am endm ents t o the Minim um Wage Act was ratified on 13 Decem ber 201 8.

01 Janu ar y 2 019 to 01 Jan uary 202 0. The p roposed stat utory provisions h av e been
com ple men te d b y p rov isio ns o n f ine s. Th e p rop osal to ex clud e ad dit ion al p aym en ts fro m
th e m inim um w age as well as t he in crease of the m inim um w age on 0 1 January 2019
(t o EUR 66 7.1 1 net 88 6.6 3 gro ss an d/ or t o EUR 7 00 net 940. 58 gr oss) w as accept ed .
1.2 W ages in th e public sector
The collectiv e bargaining pr ocedu re lau nched in spr in g 201 8 and r estored in October
2018 ended on 03 Decem ber 2018 w ith the Agreem ent on Wages an d other Labour
Cost s i n t he Publ ic Se cto r sign ed by th e Go ver nm en t and th e r ep rese nt ati ve tr ade un ion s
of public sect or employees. I n accordan ce with the Agreem ent, the w ages of all public
sect or em ployees shall increase by 4 per cent from 0 1 January 2019 on war ds. The
Agreem ent also ad dr esses ot her issues relat ed t o the w or king condit ions in the pu blic
sect or (e.g. pr om otions, paym ent of overt ime, addit ional payments, severance p ay ,
sev erance pay upon ret irement, etc. ).
As an in crease in w ages as well as im provem en t s in t he social and prof ession al status
of pu blic sect or em ploy ees wer e t he m ain rea sons for t he call for st rik es b y sever al tr ade
union s for th e beg inning of Decem ber, the sign ed Ag reem ent r esult ed in :
th e adoption of Amen dment s to the Pub lic Sect or Sa lary Syst em Act (wh ich w as
published in t he Official Gazet te of the Repu blic of Slovenia, No. 84/ 18- ZPSJS-
V, 27 De cember 2 018);
th e con clusion of strike agr eements between t he governm ent and t rade unions
repr esent ing individuals em ployed in edu cational, cultur al, health an d social
prot ection, by which the str ikes w er e called of ( by the st r ike agreement
concluded with the t rade u nion of policem en, th e strike of policem en, w hich
last ed several mon ths, ceased) ;
th e signat ure of an nexes to the Collective Agr eement f or the Public Sect or
(p ublished in the Official Gazett e of t he Repub lic of Slovenia, No. 80/2018) and
th e Collective Agr eement f or Non -commer cial Act ivit ies in t he Repu blic of
Slovenia ( published in t he Official Gazette of t he Repu blic of Slovenia,
No.80 / 201 8);
th e signat ure of annexes to the follow ing sector al collect ive agr eements
(pu blish ed in th e Off icial Gazet te of t he Repu blic of Slov enia, No. 80 /18) :
