Has the European Commission decided to abandon social policy initiatives in favour of eurozone rescue plans? The Commission had announced three new texts "by the end of 2011," but it seems to have cast aside the publication of its white paper on the future of pensions, its communication on demographic challenges, and two legislative proposals about the posting of workers. It is now understood that the white paper and the proposal n the posting of workers are due out in February. The communication on demographic challenges, however, appears to have disappeared from the Commission's work...
