whereas Article 3 TEU affirms the Member States' objective as the constant improvement of living and working conditions, and the Union's aim as the well-being of its peoples, to be achieved through sustainable development of Europe based on balanced economic growth, a highly competitive social market economy geared to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and aiming at full employment and social progress, protection and improvement of the environment, combating social exclusion, discrimination and inequalities in access to health care, promoting social justice and protection, equality between women and men, solidarity between generations and protection of the rights of the child, |
