Stress analysis in the Gjilan Municipality (Kosovo)

Abstract
During this scientific research, my main objective is to analyze and give an overview of the
factual situation in Gjilan Municipality (Kosovo). The dynamics of life shift people towards
stressful situations. Nowadays stress is a very much discussed issue, while we do have little
knowledge about the causes of stress, its circumstances, its management. Stress affects
negatively people’s health by disordering the immune system. When a man has stress, he/she
has disorders in connection with the following symptoms: saliva flows slowly, increased eyelids,
shrinking of blood vessels, shiver and sweat, deep breathing, quick heart beats, problems
with food digestion and an increased blood tension.

Introduction
Stress is an unpleasant awakening of emotional and physiological condition that people
prove in situations they perceive as dangerous or threatening for their welfare. The
word “stress” means different things for different people. Some people determine
stress as event or situation that cause tension feeling, pressure, or negative emotions
like anxiety or anger. The others see stress like a reaction against these situations.
This event includes physiological differences – like increase of heart beats and muscles
tension, also emotional differences and behaviors. However, many psychologists
consider stress like a process that includes interpretation and answer for a person
against a threatening event.
The circumstances that cause stress are called stressors. Stressors make the difference
in the severity and duration of this illness. The responsibility of caution for a sick
parent can be a continued source of great stress, while getting stuck in traffic can
cause short-term stress. Some events, like a relative death, are difficulties for all of us.
But in different situations, persons can answer differently about the same event. What
is stressful for a person may not be for another one. Example, a student who is prepared
for a chemistry test and predicts a bad grade can also feel stress, while a friend from
the class that has studied before, can feel safety for a good grade. Stressors can be
classified in three categories: catastrophic events, different life changes and daily
problems. Expect this, simple, the idea about unpleasant life events from the past or
predicting future unpleasant events can cause stress for lot of people. There are a lot
of ways that people can use to manage stress. These ways will help people to stay
calm and effective in high situations of pressure. People have to know that there are
some healthy strategies how to manage stress: avoid unnecessary stress; avoid stressful
people; look for the positive sides of issues, learn to excuse etc.
