Regulation 1080/2006 on the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) will soon be amended to extend possibilities of co-financing housing for marginalised communities, notably the Roma. The European Parliament adopted its first-reading report on a legislative proposal along these lines, on 10 February in Strasbourg. Since the amendments have already been agreed in a compromise with the Council of Ministers, the regulation is expected to undergo final adoption quickly.
