TELECOM ITALIA BOSSES MULL BUY-BACK OPERATION AS SHARE FALLS.

Against the background of a 47% decline in the Telecom Italia share price since mid-July, the telecoms operator's chairman, Gian Mario Rossignolo, and its two general managers, Fulvio Conti and Massimo Sarmi, have outlined the group's strategic objectives. They said that the aim was to make business agreements "by geographical areas", although they stressed that major global alliances were "more journalistic reality than factual reality".
