AGCOM, Italy's telecoms regulator, should not authorise the former monopoly Telecom Italia to raise fees charged to other operators to access its network before obtaining further information on the rate hike, says the European Commission. For now, AGCOM explains that the move is meant to "better reflect real costs". The fees are charged by the owner of the network to a competitor for access to its network (also known as fees for unbundling of the local loop).
