The role of the parenting style in the importance of the close friendship

functions in middle adolescence

Abstract

The purposeofthisstudyistoevaluateifparetingstyleinuencestheimportanceoftheclose

friendship functions in middle adolescence.

Methodology: In this quantitative study participate  adolescents of  years old

randomlyselectedinprincipalhighschoolsofShkodraAlbaniaofwhichfemalesand

malesThe questionnairesusedare ActiveParentingPublisherswhichisdivided into

twopartswitheenstatementseach PartIisdesignedtoidentify beliefsaboutparenting

PartIIfocusesinthecurrenthomesituationItservestoevaluatewichoftheparentingstyles

(autocratic, permissive and democratic/authoritative) is used momently by the adolescent’s

parentsAndalsotheMcGillFriendshipQuestionnaireFriendsFunctionswhichcontains

sixmainfunctionsStimulatingcompanianshipHelp Intimacy Reliablealliance

 Self validation  Emotional Security It serves to evaluate the characteristics that the

adolescentappreciatesmore abouthisher closefriendandpracticallyto whichfunctions of

closefriendshipheshegivesmoreimportanceForthedataprocessingIusedSPSSprogram

IdocrosstabulationsbetweengenderfemalesandmalesandallthreeparentingstylesAlso

IdoPearsoncorrelationbetweenparentingstyleandfunctionsofclosefriendship

Results: From the crosstabulations results that the democratic (authoritative) parenting style

dominatesinbothgendersfemalesmalesIfwerefertothecorrelationbetweengender

andtheparentingstylewecannoticethatthecorrelationissignicantrandalso

tothecorrelationbetweenfunctionsofclosefriendshipandtheparentingstylewecannotice

thatthecorrelationissignicantbetweenparentingstyleandhelprparentingstyle

andreliablealliancerparentingstyleandselfvalidationrparentingstyle

andemotionalsecurityrand lesssignicantbetweenparentingstyle andintimacy

of time grooming, exercising, and modifying their physical appearance.1

Adolescent is of a young person in the process of developing from a child into an

adult.
