The European Commission adopted on 28 June a new five year Social Policy Agenda, as announced in the last issue of European Report (No 2512). The Agenda will be a key input to the work programme of the French Presidency and the Nice European Summit in December. It will also provide an important contribution to the annual synthesis report to the Spring European Council, the first of which will take place in Stockholm in 2001.
