Abstract
The purpose of the paper was to investigate determinants of students’ behaviour intention
and continued usage intention of the Moodle e-learning platform. A total 227 students lled
an online questionnaire, from Bachelor and Master Level of studies. By utilizing Uni ed
Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model and integrating trust in
website constructs, the model explained 45.7% of Behaviour Intention and 75.1% Continued
Intention to use the system. We used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling PLS-
SEM approach to do the statistical analysis. The results show that behaviour intention was
determined by performance expectancy, social in uence and trust in website, while continued
usage intentions was predicted by behaviour intention and trust in Moodle web site. Through
the ndings of this study, the university management can develop appropriate policies and
strategies to encourage long-term use of Moodle platform.

Introduction
Moodle is the most well-known free open source e-learning platform now days.
It is used in more than 230 countries and with more than 99.000 online running
copies, serving more than 129 million of students World-wide (Moodle Trust, 2018).
E-learning has been adopted by enterprises and organizations, large and small,

developing countries to implement very good e-learning platforms and improve
dramatically the learning process of the students.
The e-learning platforms have improved the e ciency in information dissemination
and student-teacher-university collaboration. The students can access most of the
teaching resources and activities 24/7 even without the need for a face to face contact
with the teacher.
The adoption of e-learning platforms is a must for universities in Albania, for them
to remain competitive and a ract the best students. To gain the much-wanted
bene ts of e-learning technologies, the European University of Tirana (EUT) has
implemented for the rst time in November 2016 the UET LMS platform, based on
Moodle. All students of the EUT are provided with this
e
- learning platform access.
The main functionalities available in the portal for students and teachers where: 1)
resource sharing like les, folders, web links, wikis, 2) Activities like announcements,
