URBAN MOBILITY : CITIES SEEK EU BACKING FOR URBAN TOLL SYSTEMS.

European cities would like to see an EU framework in place to allow them to introduce urban toll systems if they wish. That view was expressed by Eurocities, the network of major European cities, at a European Parliament hearing, on 14 February in Brussels. The hearing was held in the context of the consultation on the Green Paper on urban mobility, adopted by the European Commission last September, on which Parliament is preparing a resolution.
