8 Will travelling to the EU change for me?
After the transition period ends, non-EU citizens
who are current family members of EU citizens will
no longer be able to automatically enter the EU
visa-free using residence cards issued by the UK
government under the ‘EEA Regulations’. This will be
the case even if the residence card has an expiry date
after 31December 2020.
Non-EU citizens travelling to the EU who have a
biometric residence card conf‌irming they hold
‘Settled Status’ or ‘Pre-Settled Status’ must check
the visa requirements of the EU Member State to
which they intend to travel before making travel
arrangements. This applies even if they are travelling
to the EU during the transition period.
