ABB TO UPGRADE SINGAPORE POWER PLANT.

Singapore Power's unit PowerSenoko said it was repowering the Stage 1 Development of Senoko Power Station for SUSD670 million. PowerSenoko's three units of oil-fired, conventional thermal power plants commissioned in 1975 will be converted for natural gas usage. Power Senoko signed a SUSD300 million contract with Asea Brown Boveri for the conversion of the first unit. The deal included a six-year service and maintenance contract. The project will be implemented in three phases and the first repowered block will come into commercial operation in the first quarter of 2001, and the second and third repowered blocks later, subject to natural gas availability...
