(2000/C 374 E/074) PREGUNTA ESCRITA E-0387/00 de Camilo Nogueira Román (Verts/ALE) a la Comisión (15 de febrero de 2000) Asunto: Apresamientos de barcos gallegos por buques de la Armada irlandesa En los últimos días se han producido varios apresamientos de barcos gallegos que faenaban en el Gran Sol por parte de unidades navales de la Armada irlandesa alegando, al parecer, irregularidades de carácter técnico. Los barcos fueron liberados previo pago de una multa simbólica, pero los perjuicios económicos originados por la falta de actividad pesquera durante el período en que permanecieron apresados fueron muy elevados.
¿Tiene conocimiento la Comisión de estos hechos, que se repiten continuamente, y de la presión a que está sometida la flota gallega? ¿Considera apropiado este comportamiento de las autoridades irlandesas? Respuesta del Sr. Fischler en nombre de la Comisión (13 de marzo de 2000) La Comisión no estaba informada de los hechos que menciona Su Señoría.
La Comisión ruega a Su Señoría le transmita información exacta sobre los hechos acaecidos para poder efectuar las investigaciones pertinentes.
