ASPARTAME: NOTHING DECIDED YET.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) promises to take account of the different opinions that have been expressed when finalising its opinion on aspartame. It announced this intention on 9 April, at a follow-up meeting on the public consultation that closed on 15 February. Aspartame (E951) is a concentrated low-calorie sweetener authorised for nearly 30 years in Europe to sweeten different food products like sodas and chewing gum.
