* International Conference on Terminology and Knowledge Engineering:

An international conference on "terminological methods in content development with special emphasis on semantic interoperability and standardisation" (TKE 2005) will be held on August 16 to 19 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event will address the following themes: methodology standardisation; semantic interoperability under the requirements of multilingualism & multimodality; metadata; data elements and data categories; metamodels; information extraction and retrieval; terminology extraction; content development; content maintenance and updating mechanisms; ontologies; concept systems; classification systems & thesauri; taxonomies.

* Seminar on Web Tools for EU Research Projects: A seminar on web tools for EU research projects will take place on September 7 in Cambridge, the UK. There are many software tools that can be used to support EU research projects, from shared workspaces to resource planning and reporting tools, from electronic meetings to web content management. The seminar will examine which tools are the most effective for Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) projects. Project co-ordinators and participants from FP6 projects will explain how they use different tools for a range of functions, and which benefited their consortia the most. They will share their experiences of simple tools for sharing files and discussion fora, to more complex ones for research community building, for reporting project progress to the EU, and web-based video conferencing.

* Interactive computer-aided learning conference: An international conference on interactive computer-aided learning will take place from September 28 to 30 in Villach, Austria. The conference will focus on the exchange of relevant trends and research results, as well as the presentation of practical experience gained while developing and testing elements of interactive computer-aided learning.
