Dicho Manual prevé que:
no se solicitarán los servicios del chófer para uso particular cuando ello le suponga al chófer la prestación de horas extraordinarias o gastos de misión, salvo si lo justifican motivos de seguridad.
Exceptuando tales motivos, el Miembro de la Comisión podrá conducir su vehículo de servicio por sí mismo, especialmente los días no laborables.
Hasta la fecha, no se ha demostrado la existencia de casos en los que se hayan utilizado coches de servicio en contra de lo establecido por estas normas.
(2004/C 84 E/0482) PREGUNTA ESCRITA E-0480/04 de Christopher Heaton-Harris (PPE-DE) a la Comisión (23 de febrero de 2004) Asunto: Concursos generales de la Comisión Tras la reciente publicación de un artículo en Le Figaro relativo al caso de Jean-Louis Gibault, un ciudadano francés que se presentó al concurso general de la Comisión en el ámbito de las relaciones exteriores y gestión de las ayudas a los países extracomunitarios:
¿Podría explicar la Comisión por qué obtuvo una puntuación de 19,5 en la prueba oral, por lo que su solicitud fue rechazada? ¿Qué fue lo que motivó que esta puntuación no fuese revelada al solicitante, a pesar de sus numerosos intentos? ¿Tiene la Comisión algún procedimiento judicial abierto con el Sr. Gibault? Si es así, me gustaría obtener más información acerca de la fecha del caso.
Respuesta del Sr. Kinnock en nombre de la Comisión (29 de marzo de 2004) La convocatoria del concurso al que Su Señoría hace referencia en la pregunta establecía una puntuación mínima de 20 puntos de un total de 40 para superar la prueba. La puntuación obtenida por el candidato mencionado en la pregunta de Su Señoría fue 19,50. El hecho de no conseguir la puntuación mínima exigida constituye, obviamente, una razón legítima para excluir a un candidato.
