COMMISSION CLEARS FORD TAKEOVER OF KWIK-FIT CAR REPAIRS FIRM.

The European Commission has cleared the takeover by the US car maker Ford Motor Company of the UK based company Kwik-Fit plc., it confirmed through a statement on June 1. The Commission's Merger Task Force found little problem with one or two small market overlaps, but on the whole approved the deal as the market had many competitors.
