COMMISSION CLEARS PCM AND WEGENER NEWSPAPER JOINT VENTURE, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS.

Plans to set up a joint venture between Dutch newspaper publishers PCM Holding and Koninklijke Wegener through the combination of some of their newspapers have been waved through by the European Commission. The joint venture will see the publishers combine one of PCM's national daily newspapers (Algemeen Dagblad), all its regional newspapers (Rotterdams Dagblad, Rijn en Gouwe and De Dordtenaar) and two of Wegener's regional newspapers.
