COMMISSION'S OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE INITIATIVE.

The European Commission has launched a number of initiatives involving open source software in view of the rise and rise of the system. The Directorate-General on the Information Society has set up a working group a view to analysing the development and putting forward a series of recommendations. The group comprises Commission representatives and experts on the development of the free software provisions process.
