CONSUMER PRICES: INFLATION UP BY 1.6% IN EURO ZONE AND 1.5% IN EU15 IN NOVEMBER.

The highest annual inflation rates were in Ireland (3%), Denmark and Spain (both 2.7%). Lowest rates were in Sweden (0.8%), France and Austria (both 1%). Compared with October, annual inflation rose in thirteen Member States, fell in one and was unchanged in another.--The new Eurostat inflation rates or Harmonised Indices of Consumer Prices (HICPs) are calculated according to a weighted average of Consumer Price Indices (CPIs) from Euro-zone countries.
