ECONOMIC OUTLOOK: SLIGHT FALL IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCER PRICES IN JUNE 2002.

The industrial producer price index fell slightly in June 2002 compared with the previous month in the Euro-zone and the fifteen-nation EU, by 0.1% in both areas, according to estimates published on August 2 by Eurostat, the EU's Statistical Office. In May, prices were stable in the Euro-zone but declined by 0.1% in the EU15. In June 2002 compared with June 2001, industrial producer prices fell by 1.1% in the Euro-zone and by 1.0% in the EU15.In June 2002 compared to the previous month, the evolution of the different sectors was very similar in the Euro-zone and the EU15.
