ENTREPRENEURIAL WOMEN MEET ERKKI LIIKANEN.

On October 20, the Enterprise Policy Commissioner Erkki Liikanen met Miriam Arnau, the Vice-President of Female Europeans of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (FEM). The businesswomen's representative told Mr Liikanen that "women entrepreneurs and co-entrepreneurs make a crucial contribution to the economy and the construction of Europe and they have special support needs, in particular, in view of their job-creation potential". FEM suggested several specific actions and initiatives in favour of women entrepreneurs and co-entrepreneurs:- to undertake a European-wide comparative survey on women entrepreneurs and co-entrepreneurs in SMEs by sector and EU Member State;- to promote a positive change of attitude towards female entrepreneurship in schools, financial institutions and in society, and to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit...
