EU AND EURO ZONE UNEMPLOYMENT STABLE IN JUNE.

Unemployment in the European Union remained unchanged at 9.4% in June, according to figures published on August 10 by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. EU unemployment in June 1998 stood at 10.0%. The corresponding rates for the Euro zone (all EU Member States except for Denmark, Greece, Sweden and the United Kingdom) were 10.3% for June 99, unchanged on the previous month, and 10.9% in June 1998.
