EU COURT PRESIDENT REJECTS REQUEST FOR INTERIM MEASURES TO SCUPPER COMMISSION/PARLIAMENT DEAL.

The President of the Court of First Instance, Bo Vesterdorf, announced on 15 January the institution's rejection of the application for interim measures made by Gabriele Stauner (EPP-ED, Germany) and 21 other MEPs, calling for the suspension of the application of a Framework Agreement governing relations between the European Parliament and the European Commission during their legislatures. The plaintiffs believe the Framework Agreement, which sets conditions for transmitting confidential documents as part of the budgetary discharge procure, could affect the individual rights of MEPs, as referred to in Article 197 of the Amsterdam Treaty.
