EU INDUSTRY ORDER BOOKS STABLE IN OCTOBER.

The euro-zone industrial new orders index fell by 0.5% in October 2005 compared to September 2005 after rising by 1.6% in September. In the EU25, new orders remained stable in October 2005, after an increase of 0.7% in September, according to Eurostat. In October 2005 compared to October 2004, industrial new orders were up by 4.9% in the EU.

Between October 2004 and October 2005, machinery and equipment grew by 10.7% in the EU. Manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment rose by 8.9%. Transport equipment increased by 6%.
