EUROPEAN COMMISSION MOVES TO REDRESS INTERNAL GROUP GENDER IMBALANCE.

If the European Commission is to proclaim itself as a champion of equality it must live by its words, as witnessed by a decision aimed at ensuring a reasonable gender balance in the expert groups and committees it sets up. The decision taken on 19 June sets a target of at least 40% of each sex in each group or committee in the medium term.
