Dr. Werner Berg, LL.M. is a knowledge management counsel at Latham & Watkins in Brussels. His practice includes the entire spectrum of EU and German antitrust law. He advises on dominance issues and has represented companies in abuse procedures before the European Commission, the German Bundeskartellamt and other competition authorities. He has particular expertise in the area of merger control including referrals to and from the European Commission, complex remedy issues and second phase procedures both at the EU and German level.


Dr. Berg advised companies on horizontal cooperation and vertical agreements both in German and EU competition law. He has been involved in numerous litigation matters before the European Community courts and in several cartel investigations of the European Commission. Dr. Berg has also handled competition law related arbitration cases at the ICC and DIS level. Dr. Berg is a member of the International Bar Association, the Association for European Law and the Antitrust Law Study Group.
