* Challenges to European competitiveness, industrial performance and policy responses: a conference to be staged by the European Commission on December 9 in Brussels (Charlemagne building) to debate policy responses to get Europe back on the Lisbon track, including industrial policy measures tailored to sector-specific needs, and the likely shape of an integrated strategy to enhance enterprise competitiveness.
