* The Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) is to be held by the European Parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) from November 24 to 26 in Brussels. The Brussels session, which follows sessions in Geneva and Cancun, aims at providing members of parliament with a chance to look closely at recent development in the WTO and consider a parliamentary contribution to the revitalisation of the WTO process. * The 10th Conference on Control with Remote Sensing of Area-based Subsidieswill take place in Budapest, Hungary, from November 24 to 27. The event, held by the EU Directorate-General Joint Research Centre (JRC), will bring together key representatives from government and the IT industry working with imaging instrumentation and support of farmers in all Member states and candidate countries. The conference will focus on the development of a control system (use of technology to assess levels of subsidy to farmers) to suit reform since adoption of the Common Agricultural Policy.
