EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT: OMBUDSMAN REFERS SPANISH SECURITY COMPLAINT TO MEPS.

The European Ombudsman Jacob S?derman has referred to the European Parliament a complaint about Spanish plans to tighten security at forthcoming EU summits. The complaint came from Spain's third biggest political party, United Left, who argue that the proposed measures breach EU citizens' right to free movement. The party's co-ordinator, Gaspar Llamazares, urged the Ombudsman to take action in support of the right to move freely and demonstrate.
