FLURRY OF PRE-SUMMER-BREAK DEFENCE MEETINGS.

To ensure progress over the Summer break on the intensive work-schedule to turn the concept of the Common European Security and Defence Policy into a reality, the French Presidency of the Council of Ministers has organised a flurry of working meetings in the last week of July. The ad-hoc group set up to co-ordinate EU-NATO liaison met on 24 July, as did the task force set up to co-ordinate work on the headline goals. On 25 July, the interim military group and interim political and security committee met, too. And the headline task force plus the interim Military Body were scheduled to meet on 26 July, the global crisis management task force on 27 July, and the interim military group was planning to meet again on 28 July...
