FRESH COMPLAINT TO COMMISSION AGAINST MICROSOFT.

The European Committee for Interoperable Systems (ECIS), which brings together competitors and clients of the Microsoft group, has lodged a fresh complaint with the European Commission claiming unfair competition on the part of the American software giant. In a statement released on February 22, the Committee accuses Microsoft of threatening to deprive businesses and individual consumers of real choice.

Committee Chairman Simon Awde indicates that "ECIS deeply regrets that enforcement of antitrust laws is the only way of preventing Microsoft from continuing to behave in an anti-competitive manner". The Committee adds that European Commission...
