(1999/C 118/234) PREGUNTA ESCRITA E-3122/98 de Luciano Vecchi (PSE) a la Comisión (16 de octubre de 1998) Asunto: Incumplimiento por parte de la Comisión Europea del proyecto (FED) de acondicionamiento de las carreteras Goma-Rutsuhuru (lote1) y Bukavu-Kavumu (lote2) en la actual República Democrática del Congo (antiguo Zaire) Debido a la guerra civil que ha ensangrentado la actual República Democrática del Congo en los últimos años, la Comisión Europea ordenó, en noviembre de 1996, la suspensión de la ejecución del contrato (FED) de acondicionamiento de las carreteras de Goma-Rutsuhuru (lote1) y Bukavu-Kavumu (lote2).
Pese a que, a partir del 15 de diciembre de 1997, la Comisión Europea rescindió definitivamente el contrato con la empresa adjudicataria (Astaldi S.A.), aún no ha procedido a la liquidación de las indemnizaciones que corresponden a la propia empresa.
¿Puede explicar la Comisión Europea a qué se debe este retraso y en qué plazos y de qué manera piensa proceder a la justa indemnización de la empresa adjudicataria?
