ICT : 64% OF EU BUSINESSES HAVE WEBSITES.

The share of enterprises having a website or homepage in the EU27 was 64% in January 2008, but this figure varied considerably between member states. It was highest in Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands and Finland. Only in Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Portugal, Cyprus and Hungary did less than half of enterprises have a website. These data, published on 9 December by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, come from a Community survey conducted at the beginning of 2008 on information and communication technologies (ICT) in enterprises.

Among those enterprises having a website in the EU27 in January 2008, 57% provided product catalogues or price lists, 26% had facilities for online ordering, 26% for online job advertising or job applications and 10% for online payment.
