INTERNET : TWENGA FILES NEW COMPLAINT AGAINST GOOGLE.

The French shopping search engine Twenga filed a complaint against Google for abuse of dominant position, on 24 January, adding to the ten or so complaints already being examined. According to the different complainants, Google uses its position as leader on the search engine and online advertising market to give a lower ranking to its rivals in its search results and favour its own sites via its AdWords platform and its Panda algorithm.

These practices "ostensibly favour its own vertical services in its search results, in particular Google Shopping, and systematically lower the listing of its competitors' sites". Twenga also accuses Google of "discriminatory practices related to the Google AdWords platform," states a press release.
