The European Commission has appointed a German-speaking Belgian, Ernst Moutschen, as head of its representation office in Luxembourg. Mr Moutschen, 53, is currently in charge of the sales sector at the European Communities Official Publications Office. Before that, he worked for seven years as the Deputy to the Head of the Commission Representation in Luxembourg. He began his career as a European official in 1989 working for Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union.
