NEW SPACE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM.

On 5 February, the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper) endorsed the establishment of a European surveillance and tracking service aimed at enhancing the security of space infrastructures and the safety of satellite operations by reducing collision risks and helping to monitor space debris. The programme is expected to receive EU funding of around 70 billion between 2014 and 2020.
