NOKIA TO INVEST EUROS 168 MILLION IN GERMANY.

Nokia, the Finnish telecommunications giant, announced on December 21 that it plans to invest a billion Finnish Markkas (more than 168 million Euros) in expanding the capacity of its factory in Bochum, Germany, specialising in the manufacture of mobile phones. Anssi Vanjoki, Vice President of Nokia Mobile Phones, indicated that the investment should enable the group to cope with growing demand for mobile handsets both in Europe and worldwide. Nokia proposes to install new production lines at its German plant to double anticipated output over 1999. The investment will also lead to the creation of an unspecified number of new jobs...
