OECD YEAR-ON-YEAR INFLATION RATE UP TO 2.5% IN NOVEMBER.

The consumer price index for the 29-nation OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) area rose by 0.1% in November. Measured over twelve months, consumer price inflation for the OECD area (excluding Turkey), was 2% in November, up 0.1 of a percentage point from October and down from 2.5% on year-earlier levels.

Inflation remained stable in the Group of Seven major economies considered as a whole. Monthly inflation was 0.1% in Italy, zero in the United States, Germany, France and Canada and -0.1% in Japan and the United Kingdom. Among the 20 smaller countries that sent in November figures to the Paris-based OECD, monthly inflation increased in four countries, fell in thirteen, and was unchanged in three.
