OLAF LAUNCHES ROUND-TABLE ON ANTI-FRAUD COMMUNICATION.

How can information and communication help in combating fraud and corruption in the EU? This complex question is being examined by a roundtable of experts (magistrates, politicians, police officers, scientists and journalists, etc.) on a new Web page launched by the EU's Anti-Fraud Office, OLAF. The round-table was prompted by Eurobarometer findings that three-in-four Europeans believe the Union should provide more information on its fight against fraud. Some 56% said there is inadequate media reporting of this issue. One of the initiative's central aims is to explain misappropriation of Community funds' widespread damaging effects.
