SOLANA TO REPORT BACK TO EU LEADERS ON NEW EXTERNAL SERVICE NEXT JUNE.

EU leaders have asked the Common Foreign and Security Policy chief Javier Solana to report back in June 2005 on efforts to set up a new EU diplomatic corps. At the European Council on December 17, leaders asked Solana to continue work which has already started on setting up the new oExternal Action Serviceo (EAS) in particular by identifying key issues including the scope and structure of the future service.
