TELECOM/DENMARK: PHONE OPERATORS SUSPECTED OF ALLIANCE.

On October 2, the Danish competition authorities raided the offices of mobile phone operators, including Orange (part of France Telecom), who have been suspected of an illegal price fixing alliance. On the subject of an unlawful alliance on package pricing for fixed and mobile phones among operators, Finn Lauritzen, Director General of the Competition Council, said "We have our suspicions". During an interview on Danish television, Mr Lauritzen emphasised that the Council had brought the matter before a tribunal.
